Gameplay during the base game is simplistic and easy to master. I only won when three or more matching symbols landed on one of the 20 paylines. My The Dog House review uncovered both wild and scatter symbols. They land in the shape of a kennel and paw print, respectively.

The wild can substitute any other symbol to help form a winning combination. I should say that the scatter is the only exception to this rule. Wilds on the same reel will trigger 2x or 3x multipliers. This doubled or tripled my wins during testing.

The dachshund, pug, pekingese, and rottweiler are the high-paying symbols. I triggered smaller payouts when matching traditional royal symbols. Bet from £0.20 to £5.00 per spin to unlock wins, which pay from left to right. 3+ scatters landing anywhere on the reels will trigger the bonus feature. Theme and Story of The Dog House Slot

I have seen The Dog House described as having an animal, pet, and dog theme. Set in a quiet suburban neighbourhood, the story follows a playful pack of canine friends. Ideal for dog lovers, I enjoyed trying to keep up with the mischievous pups as they ran a mock in someone’s front garden.

Graphics, Sounds, and Vibes

My experience playing The Dog House demo was enhanced by its vibrant, detailed graphics. While I didn’t find anything groundbreaking, I think it is almost impossible not to be drawn in by the cartoon-style design and large symbols. The reels are set inside a wooden dog house. The hounds inside couldn’t be less fierce. Even the rottweiler is sticking its tongue out with a happy grin on its face.

I was impressed by the animations. They include flowers swaying in the wind and butterflies flying around the yard. Symbols land on the grid reel by reel, and I like how each dog performs a unique trick when a winning combination is formed. My favourite was the dachshund releasing a slimy ball from its mouth in anticipation of it being thrown.

The soundtrack complements the theme nicely. It creates a sense of calm and playfulness. However, I did find it a bit tedious during long playing sessions. My sense of anticipation grew after two bonus symbols landed on the reels. I can compare the sound heard in this situation to a TV game show just before time runs out. It’s just my opinion, but I would have liked to have heard more of a shift in the music when The Dog House bonus features activate.

The Dog House Slot on Mobile

While The Dog House has been optimised for mobile use, I didn’t find the experience as enjoyable. Using my smartphone, the reels only take up half of the screen, making it more difficult to view symbols. However, I should say that the spin button and other features are conveniently positioned underneath the reels.

Switching to landscape mode did make a difference, and it also moved the spin button to the right of the screen. I couldn’t enjoy the detail of the dog symbols when I used my tablet to play The Dog House demo. Elsewhere, because of their size, I often tapped the wrong button when I attempted to alter my stake or use turbo mode.
