The game is played on a larger 6x5 grid, but it was the scatter pays mechanism that quickly grabbed my attention. This meant that I earned a payout when 8+ matching symbols landed anywhere on the reels.

The fun doesn’t end there, as the tumble feature comes into play after a win. All winning symbols are removed and replaced by new ones. This process continues indefinitely until no more wins materialise.

I found low-paying fruit symbols and higher-paying candies when playing the Sweet Bonanza demo. The heart candy symbol is the most lucrative in the game. Although I wasn’t lucky enough to do so, this symbol pays out 10x, 25x, or 50x when you land 8-9, 10-11, or 12+, respectively.

Given the format of the game, I wasn’t surprised to learn that Sweet Bonanza doesn’t come with a wild symbol. However, the lollipops scatter is available. Graphics, Sounds, and Vibes

Sweet Bonanza looks like something out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I was immediately hit by vibrant visuals, including the candy cane-style reel border and cloud-like cotton candy. This took me back to my younger years when I would head to the Pick’n Mix shop after school.

There are several animations that help make Sweet Bonanza a treat for the eyes. I enjoyed the way symbols burst like a balloon following a win and how the payout amount appears on the reels. It’s just my opinion, but I felt more fuss could have been made when the free spins bonus is triggered. Lollipops take over the entire screen, but the lack of other animations left me underwhelmed.
