Unfortunately, I didn’t find any Wealth Frog bonus features. However, diamond scatters and wild frogs can trigger large payouts. This five-reel slot machine has 3 rows and a minimalistic design.

I had heard about Wealthy Frog’s simplicity. However, even that didn’t prepare me for just how basic the slot is compared to other online slots. There are just five fixed paylines, but I was pleased to earn a payout when landing just two matching symbols. Wins of 1x to 40x your bet can be claimed by landing Queen, King, Ace, and lemon symbols. My wins increased through watermelon, red 7, and golden frog symbols.

Although it didn’t occur while I played the Wealthy Frog demo, landing 3, 4, or 5 diamond scatters anywhere on the grid will activate a 250x payout. The 1,000x Wealthy Frog maximum win occurs when 5x golden frogs land on a payline.

I was able to wager from £0.05 to £100 per spin. Once I was comfortable with the gameplay, I began using the autoplay feature. This feature is available for up to 1,000 spins. Landing 3x lemon symbols paid out 4x my bet. This increased to 40x when four watermelons hit a payline. As someone who enjoys cascading reels, expanding wilds, and other mechanics, I did find the Wealthy Frog gameplay a little dull.

Theme and Story of the Wealthy Frog Slot

Wealthy Frog has an Asian theme and is based on traditional slot machines. The game is inspired by fortune animals that are known for bringing luck, wealth, and protection. However, I found it difficult to identify a specific storyline, given that the reels occupy only a small portion of the screen. This retro version of a classic fruit slot did evoke nostalgia, unlike most other games I have played.

Graphics, Sounds, and Vibes

As a fan of classic slot machines, I was impressed by the visuals of Wealthy Frog. Pragmatic Play, with the help of Fat Panda, has done a good job of delivering a contemporary twist. The design is simple but effective. The reels are set on a background of multiple fruit machines. However, I think the design would have been more effective if they were in their pure form, rather than silhouettes.

The red and gold colour scheme is a nod to the Asian theme. Glistening gold coins are on display underneath the reels, while a playful gold frog oversees the action. These animations only go a small way to make up for the lack of other on-screen features.

Although upbeat, I found the soundtrack underwhelming and not in keeping with the theme. However, I always enjoy a slot that makes a noise for each coin that is added to my balance. Unlike many slots I review, Wealthy Frog actually looks better in portrait mode. This is because the reels take up most of the screen. The background found on landscape platforms disappears. I enjoyed a clearer view of the action using my smartphone. However, reverting to landscape mode on my tablet meant that I once again struggled to recognise any of the small details.

A prime example is found on the spin button. Using my smartphone, I was able to read the ‘Hold for turbo spin’ message. This was not the case in landscape mode, where the writing was too small. The slot performed well, with no lag during the Wealthy Frog demo.
