Sugar Rush 1000 Gameplay

I immediately recognised the cluster pays mechanic when I launched the Sugar Rush 1000 demo. This meant that I didn’t find any traditional paylines. Instead, I was able to win by landing 5+ matching symbols in a vertical or horizontal cluster. I’ll keep it simple: The bigger the cluster, the higher the payout. 

Another selling point of Sugar Rush 1000 is the tumble feature. This is something I haven’t come across before, but it certainly added to the excitement. Tumble activates after each win and removes all winning symbols. They are quickly replaced by new symbols that cascade down and potentially create more successful combinations. 

I was a little disappointed to learn that wilds are not available in this game. However, there are plenty of other things on offer, including two bonus features. Clusters of 5 pay out anywhere from 0.2x to 1x your bet. This grows from 20x to 150x for clusters of 15 or more symbols. 

It was pleasing to find a bet limit of £0.20 to £100 per spin. This range should meet the needs of most budgets. The orange heart, purple jelly bean, and pink candy ball are the symbols I kept a close eye on, as they are the highest-paying

 I managed to earn a £1 payout when landing a cluster of five pink balls from a £1 bet. This increased to £12.50 from a cluster of 12 orange hearts. 

Theme and Story of the Sugar Rush 1000 Slot

This is certainly a slot that I would recommend for players with a sweet tooth. The candy theme unlocks a world of confectionery when you spin the reels. The game is set in a colourful land of sweets, with friendly characters popping up along the way. I didn’t find any major differences from the original Sugar Rush slot. Pragmatic Play has stuck with the sugary aesthetic that proved such a hit with the prequel. 

Graphics, Sounds, and Vibes

I certainly noticed a difference in the quality of the graphics between Sugar Rush 1000 and the original game, even though the same pink and pastel colours dominate. Almost everything on screen is edible, whether it be retro lollipops, candyfloss, or icing sugar. I was struck by the attention to detail, which is demonstrated by the shadows on symbols that land on the reels. 

The cheerful soundtrack complements the game well. I quickly found myself humming along to the melody. The beat increases in tempo and the voice of an autotuned female singer can be heard in the background as you spin the reels. However, I did struggle to understand what she was actually signing about. 

Additional animations and sound effects added to my experience when playing the Sugar Rush 1000 free demo. For example, symbols burst when a winning combination lands. Symbols exit the reels from the bottom after each spin and are replaced by new ones from the top of the screen.

In order to deliver a complete Sugar Rush 1000 review, I tested the slot using a smartphone and tablet. The game looks a bit different in portrait mode. While all buttons have been conveniently placed, it did take me some time to adjust to the layout. 

Because of the smaller screen, I occasionally struggled to tell the difference between purple and pink symbols. The Credit and bet headings are also slightly camouflaged by the background. It was a different story on my tablet. Switching back to landscape mode improved my visual experience.

Its position on the reels is marked, and any subsequent wins on this spot are boosted by a multiplier. While I found small multipliers of 1x or 2x more common, I have heard about players who have claimed them up to 1,024x. 

Free Spins

I triggered the free spins bonus when four scatter symbols landed on the reels. The truth is that you just need at least three scatters to unlock this feature. The number of free spins awarded ranges from 10 to 30. Scatters remain in place during this feature, which boosted my chances of additional wins. I noticed that multiplier spots also kept their position until the end of the round. I even managed to score additional multipliers through tumbles.

Bonus Frequency

I was left frustrated after I failed to trigger any bonuses from my first 75 spins. However, my luck quickly turned, and I activated both multiplier spots and free spins within my next 50 spins. Two bonuses from 125 spins are slightly better than average. I have played other slot machines where bonus features pop up every 150-200 spins. 

Testing the Sugar Rush 1000 with a £50 Bankroll

I deposited £50 into my casino account so that I could really test Sugar Rush 1000. It took just three spins to earn my first payout, although it was only £0.50. At this point, I decided to call it a day and was left with a small profit.
