Spreadex Bonus

Spreadex offers a decent welcome bonus to new customers. Place a €25 fixed odds bet at a minimum of 1/2, and you receive €50 in bonuses, consisting of 5 x €5 fixed odds bets, 4 x €5 spread bets, plus 50 free spins on Starburst. There's a slightly different offer for spread betting. If you place a €10 bet at minimum 1/2 odds, you get 2 x free €5 Total Goals spread bets. You can also get cashback of up to €300 on certain spread bets or claim a free iPad instead. I chose the iPad, which is perfect for horse racing betting!

Some conditions do apply. The spread betting bonus only applies to certain sports, but this does at least include the old staples of football betting, horse racing betting, greyhound racing, cricket and golf betting.

Spreadex Bonus Code

Most companies these days don't feature a bonus code. Instead, they're like Spreadex - they offer you a straight bonus when you register. There's a nice little bonus on offer if you can persuade a friend to sign up - under the Spreadex "Refer and Earn" scheme, you can earn a €100 Total Goals spread bet if they sign up for spread betting or up to €10 cash for each fixed odds referral, up to a maximum of €50. That's well worth doing if you have mates into horse racing or other sports!

VIP Programme

Spreadex doesn't have a VIP programme for its loyal customers. However, it does offer all punters a range of worthwhile promotions, such as first score insurance for football betting and "2nd to a rag" insurance for horse racing. After placing three spreads, you can also earn spread-free bets across most sports, including cricket, greyhound racing, and golf betting. This 4th bet isn't free but lets you bet inside the spread. 

Games

Spreadex offers excellent coverage for fixed odds betting. Naturally, horse racing and football betting take centre stage, but Spreadex is great for cricket, greyhound racing and golf betting. Over 20 sports are covered, including esports and virtual sports. You can also wager on political elections.

So much for the fixed odds - as the name suggests, Spreadex is the market leader in sports spread betting, especially for horse racing. If you ever get bored of standard horse racing wagers, spread betting is a really entertaining - and potentially very lucrative - alternative.

Payment Methods

You can add money to your Spreadex account by Visa or MasterCard, direct debit, cheque, or bank transfer. That's it - Spreadex doesn't accept any other payment methods. On the plus side, there's no minimum deposit amount, and you can use your credit card to deposit for spread betting. 

Spreadex Withdrawal Time

Withdrawals can be paid to your registered card, via bank transfer, or by cheque. The process typically takes between 2 and 5 days. You can request a withdrawal by phone or email or by following the on-screen instructions from your account. Spreadex also offers a fast withdrawal service where the funds will hit your account within 2 hours.

Note that there are some terms and conditions around withdrawal amounts and that the fast withdrawals service is unavailable with all cards.

Customer Service

You can contact Spreadex: via phone, live chat, and email. Customer service hours are 8:00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Sunday. The FAQs section is helpful but lacks a search feature, making it hard to find what you're looking for. But on the phone, I've always found Spreadex staff to be friendly and well-informed, plus they've always quickly resolved any issues I've had.

Spreadex is regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for spread betting. For traditional horse racing betting, football betting, golf betting, cricket, greyhound racing, other sports, and casino games, Spreadex is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.

Problems With Spreadex 

Spreadex offers a first-rate gambling experience, especially for horse racing and football betting. There are a few areas where I think the company could do better. The most obvious issue is the lack of eWallet options like PayPal, Neteller, or ApplePay. More live streaming would be welcome. I also find it infuriating that there's no search option on the FAQs page, plus I'd like to see 24 x 7 customer service hours. Finally, always remember that with Spreadex and spread betting, you can lose more than the value of your original bet.

Also, this is not so much a problem as a tip about spread betting: It's important to remember that there is a big difference between fixed odds and spread betting. With fixed odds, you can lose no more than your stake. With spread betting, however, you could lose a lot more than your original stake - although the attraction is that you also have the potential to win a lot more. So always ensure you fully understand how spread betting works before trying it.
