Irish Frenzy Gameplay

The gameplay of this online slot is simple due to the lack of modern mechanics. I encountered a basic 10-payline slot that pays out from left to right. I was greeted by a traditional 5x3 grid upon launching the Irish Frenzy demo. The harp symbol is the most lucrative and will earn you a 2,000x payout when you land five of them. It can also replace any other symbol, bar the scatter, and trigger the free spins bonus.

Traditional royal symbols offer small payouts, and the harp, beer, clover, and toadstool are the highest paying. My Irish Frenzy review taught me that I only needed two matching harps on a payline for a win. I claimed a £15 win from a £1 bet when four beer symbols landed on a payline. Theme and Story of the Irish Frenzy Slot

The name is a bit of a giveaway on this one. However, Blueprint has done a good job delivering an Irish-themed slot that doesn’t look like all the rest of them.

As with most slots with this theme, the storyline revolves around reaching the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. You will embark on a journey across the Irish countryside and encounter some loveable characters along the way.

Graphics, Sounds, and Vibes

This slot really does what it says on the tin. You are greeted by a screen filled with pulsating mushrooms, wooden bridges, fast-moving clouds, and a daunting waterfall. It really is a picture perfect setting and the small animations help bring the game to life. I particularly liked the attention to detail on the reels, with gaelic patterns featuring across the entire grid.

I was a bit disappointed by the lack of animation in the symbols. There was little movement even when they featured in a winning combination. The ‘Good Luck’ and ‘Game Over’ messages that appear on screen before and after each spin became a little tedious.

I wasn’t met with a soundtrack when I launched the Irish Frenzy free demo. Music only sounded while the reels were spinning, and even then it was a generic arcade-style that wasn’t in keeping with the theme. Thats just my opinion, and on a more positive note, I liked how the slot built anticipation when two scatter symbols appeared on screen.

It was clear to me that Irish Frenzy has been optimised for mobile play. However, I was only able to play in landscape view, which meant turning my iPhone around. While this is frustrating, playing in this view did allow me to take in the entire background. I used my iPhone and iPad to test the slot and I didn’t suffer from lag at any point.

A 96.12% RTP is nothing to shout about, but it is above average for this type of casino game. On average, you will take home £96.12 for every £100 wagered. The medium Irish Frenzy volatility provides a good balance between the frequency and size of wins.

Bet Sizes & Variance

I always raise a smile when I find a slot that accepts bets of just £0.10. I know this is an amount that many players look out for as it allows for extended playing sessions. Your maximum bet depends on your age. New regulations from the UKGC mean that you can wager either £2 (18-24) or £5 (25+) per spin. There was no information regarding variance on Blueprint Gaming’s website.

Bonus Frequency

It took me over 130 spins to activate the free spins bonus. This was a lot, especially given that there is only one bonus feature available. This puts the bonus hit frequency below average.

Starting with £50, I set my stake to £1. My first win was worth £6 and this came after seven spins. I enjoyed just two smaller wins from my next 20 spins, so I decided to increase my stake.

Two £1 wins followed from my next 10 spins, but I ended my session after making a small loss from my initial investment.
