IS ONLINE GAMBLING LEGAL IN OKLAHOMA?

When it comes to other forms of sports betting there is a pending bill in both houses of the legislature which could allow tribal casinos to offer sports betting. However there are no clear details regarding this and compacts would need to be amended if the legislation is passed. At the current moment it’s illegal to take part in any other forms of sports betting apart from horse racing pari-mutuel wagering.
In most states Daily Fantasy Sports have been legalized as it is considered a less serious form of gambling. Oklahoma had a proposal in place to legalize daily fantasy sports back in 2016 but unfortunately it didn’t pass. There has been no recent development or attempts to legalize DFS in the state again.
Oklahoma has a legal state run lottery which all residents can take part in. Other national lotteries such as the Powerball and Mega Millions can also be entered by residents of the state.
Lotteries are among the few forms of gambling activities considered to be legal.
As with all other gambling related matters Oklahoma is very strict when it comes to age restrictions. Only those aged 18 or over can legally take part in any gambling activities offered in the state. Those who do so while underage will be charged as it is considered a criminal offense. It’s best to wait until you’re legally allowed to take part in gambling activities within the state. Keep in mind that some reservations allow gambling to those aged 18 and over while other have an age restriction of 21.

Oklahoma might have a few restrictions when it comes to gambling but the state definitely has a wide range of gambling activities available for visitors and residents to enjoy. There are plenty of land based casinos to visit on the Native American lands of the region.
Other gambling activities such as online gambling, sports betting and online poker is still considered to be illegal. And while there are no laws specifically banning these individual gambling activities it is considered a crime to take part in them. Anyone that is caught in the act will be facing criminal charges.
