Industry News Woman In Poker

For many years, online casinos were a place for men to play and win, with very little consideration given to ladies in the industry.

In recent years, there’s been a huge shift to making online casino games including slots, poker, or other table games more accessible with a feminine touch. Thankfully, skill and winning don’t care for whether you’re male or female and it’s all about how well you play, fold, or draw.

Two extremely popular poker rooms, partypoker and 888Poker, have recently signed the talented Louise Butler and Vivian Saliba.

Women in Poker

888Poker is the second largest online poker room in the world and they know that ladies can be winners too. The company recently signed Vivian Saliba after she conquered the recent 888Live London Ladies Event. By winning that particular event, Saliba claimed a spot for the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event!

This is not the first time at that Saliba has worked for 888Poker as she originally had a job in their live reporting department. Now that she’s one of the poker room’s players, she will be showing off her skills more than ever before.

In fact, the Brazilian poker player reportedly has almost $200,000 in live tournament earnings with no sign of slowing down. After finishing in 11th place in the $10k Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, Saliba earned a whopping $48,000. She also finished in 59th place while participating in the WSOPE Main Event.

Team partypoker

In September 2017, partypoker decided to step out from the usual male-dominated space and they launched partypoker Ladies. The mantra “created by female poker players for female poker players” shows that the company wants ladies to be fairly included.

Thanks to this new development, partypoker recently revealed that Louise Butler had joined them as a Team Online Pro. Definitely the most prestigious member of the team, Butler (known also as lou045) will show off her wide range of poker skills with ease.

While most poker players have their specific niche that they excel in, Butler plays online multi-table tournament, cash games, as well as Sit and Go games. It’s estimated that she’s earned more than $305,000 thanks to large tournaments and high-paying tales.

As one of the most popular and highly-ranked online MTT players in Ireland, Butler joins a long line of successful women playing in the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party game. Other players who will also appear include Beata Jambrik, Natalia Breviglieri, and Kristen Bicknell who holds the GPI #1 ranked female pro title.

It's exciting to see more and more women joining the ranks of high-earning, big winning tournaments and events. As more companies choose to take these talented women on board, a new wave of winners could soon be in the industry’s future, giving the current top-earners a run for their money.
