Industry News UK GamblingIt’s no secret that the online casino industry has experienced massive growth over the past few years. It has especially been getting a lot of attention over the last few months.

While the online casino industry has been slowly making its way into the homes of players worldwide, it holds a certain influence over players in the UK. Some might find it surprising to know that online gambling is the biggest reason for the growth in the gaming market of the United Kingdom. This has been reaffirmed by the latest figures released by the UK Gambling Commission.

This truly is a time for celebration as it has been revealed that the UK gambling market has recorded a 10% growth rate in their gambling revenues.

The growth lead to a £13.7 billion (USD 18.2 billion) milestone being hit, making it an industry record for the country! Each year the UK Gambling Commission releases insight and reviews on the performance of all industry sectors. These figures are normally released in May and November each year.

According to these figures there has been a 1.8% revenue increase between April 2016 and March 2017.

The land-based decline vs the online incline

Gambling has been a favourite pass time for many since the 17th Century but the improving technology and the resources given to play online and from home has turned this into something even bigger.

When it comes to land-based gambling there are 146 brick and mortar casinos in Great Britain as well as 8500 betting shops. The latter has seen a 4% decrease since March, earlier this year. The number of bingo parlours has also fallen and shows a 1.4% decline compare to the figures from the previous year.

Online gambling on the other hand is booming and the gambling sites in the country have generated a gross gambling revenue of £4.68 billion. This is a solid 10.1% increase from the figures of the same time period in the previous year. The good news doesn’t end there; online gambling made the most revenue and increased by 1.5 points to a steep 34 percent.

When looking at all casino products combined (which includes poker) overshadowed Pool Betting, Exchange Betting and Bingo by contributing the majority of 56% percent in gross gambling revenue.

The future is online

Many have hinted that the online casino industry is the next big thing and now it has once again been reaffirmed. With the lead in growth of revenue and new fields being explored in this industry on a daily basis there is only promise of even bigger growth to come in the future.

Because of the growth in the online gambling market figures of the UK there is a way for no-deposit bonus casinos to show face in the country. If these no-deposit bonus casinos find their way into the UK it will provide players with minimal risks and maximum pleasure.

The future is bright and booming for the UK gambling market which has proven it will grow from strength to strength in the years to come. Every day online gambling proves to be one of the dominant contributors of income in the UK.
