Gambling WinnerChristian Pham had visions of Texas Hold’em glory firmly fixed in his mind when he sat down to what he believed was the opening round of the $1,500 limit Hold’em at the World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas.

Imagine his surprise when he was dealt not two but five cards!

As it turns out Pham had unwittingly registered for a no-limit deuce-seven lowball tournament – a game he later stated isn’t available to him in his hometown of Minnesota and could have severely hampered his chances of being a big winner on the day.

Not one to back down from a challenge Pham folded the first seven hands, using the time to observe, and learn the game from, his competition. Don’t for a moment think it was all smooth sailing.

Pham is transparent about his initial concerns. "I would've unregistered if I knew what the event was." He said.

However Pham let the cards guide him to a magnificent £52,345 ($81,314) victor!

After feeling-out the table he took the lead with a gutsy bluff netting a 100,000 chips and the position of chip leader! He held this lead to ultimately take home the bracelet!

In land based and online gambling it is not uncommon for a player to experience something new and fall in love with it, which is definitely the case for Pham and No Limit 2-7. "In the future for sure I will register for this game.” Said an elated Pham; “I love it now."
