GiG ready to go big in Romania

Earlier this July 2019 the Gaming Innovation Group was granted their Class II license in Romania. This license allows them to enter the Romanian market with affiliate marketing services. With this newly secured license, GiG’s Media Services will be able to refer traffic to online casino and sportsbook operators licensed to operate in Romania.

The GiG Media Services operates all media asses, publishing and paid media teams of the company. It has a reputation as one of the market leaders with a solid track record. The expansion into Romania is a new opportunity to take advantage of its propriety technology and know-how, it will also be following the GiG strategy on expanding into regulated markets.

According to the Chief Operating Officer at GiG, Richard Brown, they are very excited to extend their market reach by starting to refer end users to operators with a Romanian license. Brown stated that they will be able to utilise the full range of marketing channels available across both the sport and casino verticals as they expand into this regulated market.

He also said that Romania is still a developing market with a good projected underlying growth in the online sector, which has accelerated in the last couple of years. Statistics show that 19% of all gambling in Romania is done online and the market is currently worth USD1.5bn (2019e) based on total gambling gross win. It is estimated that online gambling will grow by 12% from 2019 to 202 to reach more than 30% of total gambling by 2024.

There is a lot of potential in the Romanian online gambling market and GiG is ecstatic to have entered it at this time.
