Just two weeks after being allowed to reopen post-lockdown, California governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday July 1 ordered certain businesses across 19 counties, including LA county, to close their doors once again for at least three weeks. It comes amidst rising COVID-19 figures put California as the second largest hotspot with over 237,000 cases, almost half of which were reported in LA county, home to five of the biggest card rooms in the world, such as Commerce Casino, with its 210 poker tables.

13 shows that were due to be held at the Pechanga Casino during 2020 have been canceled or postponed due to coronavirus concerns. Jared Munoa, president of Pechanga Development said making the decision now was best for guests who may have been left wondering what was going to happen.
