Apple WatchIf you're an Apple fan then the recent launch of the brand new Apple Watch at the end of April 2015 probably had you on the edge of your seat. While some where underwhelmed by the modest launch, many are only interested in what the Apple Watch has to offer.

There have been some delays with regards to shipping of the new Apple Watch and it will only be available for purchase from Apple stores in June, but that hasn't stopped developers from creating applications for the latest Apple addition.

Now that the Apple Watch has launched, the next question for those who love to take their online gambling on the go is whether or not their favourite games will be available. More than that, the question is whether or not the Apple Watch will be able to give a satisfying gaming experience to begin with.

Accompanying the launch, both gaming software developer Playtech and online gambling operator, Unibet, announced that they would be launching sports betting applications for the Apple Watch.

The Unibet application is said to be one that will allow customers to stay informed about horse racing and football events, keep up to date with the latest results and give them the opportunity to place their bets.

Ed Nicholson, Head of Unibet’s UK sportsbook marketing and product operations, informed media that the app would provide customers only with relevant content and would make it possible for them to access the information they need.

Similarly, the app developed by Playtech as part of the company's plan to expand it's omni-channel offering, will also allow customers to place bets, browse live and future sports events, and keep themselves informed about upcoming promotions. There will also be a handy cashout feature.

It still remains to be seen whether the Apple Watch will play an important role in the online gambling world or not, but it's good to know that companies are already preparing for the arrival of this new piece of technology.
