Casino FloorEveryone needs to start somewhere and if you want to become a real poker player and start winning real money, you have two options. You can either head down to your local casino or click through to a live online casino in the comfort of your own home.

If you’re looking to enter the wonderful world of live casinos then there are a few rules you’ll need to keep in mind, even if you’re a pro at online casino gambling

1. Don’t forget your ID

You may be well over age but casinos may need to verify as much before they can let you play. Be sure to always have a valid form of ID on you just in case.

2. Keep a straight face

It’s easy to forget your poker face when you’re sitting at home behind your PC screen. When you’re at a live casino playing with real people, your face is what could cause you to win or lose. Practice that poker face and don’t let it give you away!

3. Know your limit

Always make sure that you know exactly how much you’re winning and losing in a live casino environment. Don’t get distracted by the bright lights and buzz of the casino floor. Before you know it, you could be well over your limit.

4. Keep your cards on the table

After being dealt your hand always keep your cards on the table. There’s no reason to pick up your cards at all unless you’re turning them over. Never put your cards in your lap so that there’s no suspicion of cheating.

5. Don’t ask the dealer

If you’re very new at playing poker, it’s totally fine to ask the dealer to clear up a rule you’re not sure about before the game starts. Never ask a dealer about how to play a hand while the game is in progress.

6. Take a shower

It may seem like an obvious rule but don’t get so sucked into the game that you forget about your own personal hygiene. It’s not smart or enjoyable for your fellow players.

7. Tip the dealer

Tipping your dealer is considered the decent thing to do as many dealers need tips in order to make a good wage. Some players choose to tip their dealers at the very end of their session while others do so after every successful hand that lands them a decent win. If you’re not sure how much to give the dealer, keep an eye on what the more experienced players at your table are tipping.

8. Think quick

In a world where online casinos and quick games are the norm, holding up a game to make long unnecessarily decisions can be very annoying to your fellow players. Think quick and keep the game moving as fluently as possible.
