Former Presidential candidate Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) was caught playing mobile poker on his iPhone during a U.S. Senate hearing on potential military action against Syria, which is accused of using chemical weapons on hundreds of innocent civilians.

Another person who was sitting behind Sen. McCain during the September 3, 2013 public hearing snapped a photo. To his credit, Sen. McCain took full ownership of his actions. He even tweeted,"Scandal! Caught playing iPhone game at 3+ hour Senate hearing - worst of all I lost!"

Of course, some have come down hard on the Senator, criticising him for his decision to play mobile poker on his iPhone as he and his colleagues heard testimony on the possibility of using military force against Syria. Others have praised Sen. McCain for his decision to take ownership of his actions.

After all, who hasn't played on their iPhone at a time when they were supposed to be doing something else?

Notably, Sen. John McCain has been a proponent for military action against Syria, but he admitted that President Barack Obama's current plan may be 'domed in the long run'. Talks concerning potential military action continue.
