EGT and Novomatic legal battleEuro Game Technology (EGT) has found themselves in a bit of a legal situation after allegedly using elements from Novomatic slots in their own slot games.

“Novomatic filed a lawsuit with the Berlin District Court in Germany earlier this month, against Euro Game Technology”

The lawsuit was also filed against EGT’s German sales partner D-systems, over activities involving the sale of online slot games.

The game developer is quite upset as they feel elements have been taken directly from their games and used without warning or approval in games created by EGT.

Novomatic demands compensation and a discontinuance of sales regarding certain slot games offered by Euro Game Technology. According to Novomatic these games in question contain similar essential elements to their own titles such as Extremely Hot, Lucky Hot, 5 Dazzling Hot, Olympus Glory, Flaming Hot, and Ultimate Hot. The use of these elements by EGT has been described as “systematically and unfairly” and has not gone unnoticed.

According to sources, Novomatic does not plan on taking this lying down and has already confirmed that similar legal actions will be taken in other countries. No statement or comment was available from EGT.
