Incredible casino recordsWhen it comes to setting records in casinos most would assume that it is always about the big jackpot winnings, but there are other records that have been set in the casino world. These records have more to do with entertainment and fun than cash and gambling.

Take a look at five of the records that have been set in the casino world over the years.

Giant House of Cards

Cards have always had a place in the casino world but they are mostly used in popular games such as Blackjack and Poker. However American architect, Bryan Berg, spent 44 days in 2002 to create the biggest house of cards ever built. Proving that when used right, a deck of cards can make for a pretty cool model. The giant construction resembled the Venetian Casino in Macau, China. Berg used a total of 4,000 decks to create his record-setting masterpiece.

Staggering Wedding Cake

Although gambling is the main source of entertainment, it’s not the only source of entertainment they have. In order to appeal to the masses, casinos host restaurants, theatres and showbiz performances. They also open their doors for conventions and trade shows making sure that people from all backgrounds have some form of entertainment they’d enjoy. In 2004 the New England Bridal Expo revealed the largest wedding cake ever displayed at a casino. This cake was 17 feet tall and a delicious 4,810 pounds of creamy frosting, and 10,000 pounds of rich pound cake batter. This vanilla-flavoured delight had 7 staggering tiers which allowed it to feed 59,000 people!

A Guitar-Smashing Record

Rock stars are no strangers to casinos. Whether playing casino games or performing on stage, rock stars often frequent casinos around the world. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood decided that they wanted to do something a little more extraordinary to celebrate the opening of their brand new parking garage in 2010. The casino asked 1914 of the event’s participants to smash acoustic guitars as part of the grand opening celebration. This crazy stunt led to a new world record! The guitars were luckily non-musician-quality guitars but the Seminole also donated $50,000 worth of guitars to local schools to support their music education.

Blackjack Table for Giants

On their 21st anniversary in September 2012, Viejas Casino decided to celebrate by building the world’s biggest blackjack table. The casino went all out and created a massive table of 2226 square feet, they also had to create bigger casino chips and playing cards to equal the ratio. When the table was finally done, the dealer at this table was taken on by 2200 of the casino’s guests. That’s a gigantic task if we’ve ever heard one!

Slot Machine Madness

A more casino-related record was set in 2013 by the Mohegan Sun Casino and Bally Technologies. The casino managed to get 1600 slot machines running the same slot game, the popular Hot Shot slot, at the same time, which led to a new record for them. That’s not the only record the Mohegan Sun Casino and Bally Technologies brag about though. On the very same day they broke the record for the largest slot machine tournament. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!
