Canadian casinosCanadian players will soon be without a firm favourite online casino as Betfair bids the country goodbye. Until recently, Betfair’s withdrawal from Canada was merely a rumour. The official announcement has been made and many Canadian players who have become accustomed to Betfair’s service will need to find a replacement.

The official cut off time is on the 14th of January 2016 and it is then that Betfair will no longer be functioning in Canada. All products will be restricted starting on the 14th of January and no new bets will be allowed. Outstanding bets will also be cancelled and the cashing out of funds will have to dealt with after the cut-off date if not settled before.

There’s still time to experience all that Betfair has to offer until the 14th of January. Until then bets can be placed and all withdrawals can be made. Canadian players are being advised to settle their accounts and have all recurring bets cancelled to avoid any further issues.

The termination of Betfair’s services in Canada is due to the long awaited merger with Paddy Power. Thankfully there are many other options to consider such as bet365 and 888 Casino.

Betfair is not the first online casino to pull out of Canada recently. In fact, Betfair is one of two casinos to move away from Canada is as many years. Ladbroke closed its Canadian doors last year and soon after Betfair followed suit. While dedicated punters have fewer and fewer options, new alternatives will be found despite the loss of Betfair’s excellent odds and user-friendly interface.

If you’re a Canadian punter looking for a new online casino to frequent, we recommend the prestigious William Hill Casino. Established in 2008, William Hill offers players a top quality gaming experience along with fantastic bonuses and an exclusive VIP program. Betfair may no longer be an option, but William Hill is certainly a fantastic replacement.
